our story

In a world full of chaos, heartbreak, trials, and pain there also comes beauty, lessons, love, friendship, and happiness.

As I use this website to express myself and spread awareness of mental health I came to the conclusion that “our story” was more of a fit than “my story”. If it weren’t for those in my life who have taught me, loved me, supported me and every one else in between, whether an old friend or a complete stranger. I don’t know how interesting my story would be without each and every one of these people, or if I would even have one to tell at all.

As I have gone through life I have had many struggles. Which doesn’t make me different than any one else in this world. Every person I have met, or will meet, has a story to tell. A story full of trials, heartbreak, pain, and many full of the struggles that come with mental health. But a story that also includes chapters full of laughter, growth, lessons, and so much beauty. Each story different and unique to that individual.

For the majority of my 22 years of life I often found myself feeling stuck and alone and wondering if it would ever get better. That there was no way anyone could possibly understand what I was going through. But no matter how tough the day or how badly I didn’t want to wake up and deal with life the next day, I did. Just as each and every one of you have done and will continue to do until our time on this earth comes to an end. And that right there is what makes our stories so magnificent. That we will fight to the end and that if we try hard enough we can find beauty in even the toughest of days. There is beauty in your fight, in your struggles, in your story. There is beauty in your every day life, all you have to do is look for it.

After losing a close friend to suicide I knew this message needed to be spread more now than ever before. And how honored I feel to spread this message and to spread the beautiful story that was Amanda Jo’s life. And the way her story affected my own. To anyone it would have seemed she had it all. Beautiful, happy, radiant, an angel. A friend to all. A friend who not only inspired the use of “Jo”, as this website would not exist without her story. But a friend who inspired me to push myself in ways I had never done before. A friend who quite literally changed the way I view life and the way I am able to love and admire every unique story of life each person has to tell.

So welcome to a place where you are loved, appreciated, and reminded that we can get through anything. Stay awhile.

XOXO-

Sage
